The electronic journal “Caucasology” is a network of scientific, educational and cultural and educational publication of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (publisher and founder). The magazine publishes articles and materials on the entire spectrum of problems of the historical and modern development of peoples and society of the North Caucasus. It is considered that, while maintaining a huge peculiar socio-cultural appearance, the region is included in the space of the surrounding world by a network of diverse relations – it forms an integral part of Russian society and the state, it remains the historical and cultural region of the Caucasian macro-region, it is permeated with power lines of global interactions and global dynamics of the modern world. The magazine supports works that explore languages, folklore and literature, ethnogenesis and ethnic history, social organization, general and special in the material and spiritual culture of the peoples of the region, as well as their place in the historical processes of the Middle Ages, modern and modern times. Particular interest for the editorial board is the scientific analysis of current problems and prospects for the economic, social, cultural and political modernization of the modern North Caucasus, its effective integration into the geo-economy and geoculture of the 21st century while maintaining its cultural and historical identity. The editors will welcome comparative research on the entire range of identified phenomena and problems.

The editor-in-chief is Alexey Khasanovich Abazov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

By order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated July 8, 2019 No. 262-r “On inclusion in the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for candidates of sciences, for doctors of sciences” are to be published, the publication The electronic journal “Caucasology” is included in the List for the following scientific specialties and relevant branches of science, according to which academic degrees are awarded:

– 07.00.02 – Domestic history (historical sciences),

– 07.00.07 – Ethnography, ethnology and anthropology (historical sciences),

– 10.01.02 – Literature of the peoples of the Russian Federation (showing specific literature or a group of literature) (philological sciences).

Based on the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated February 1, 2022 No. 33-r on the list of peer-reviewed publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for candidates of sciences, for doctors of sciences are to be published, the Electronic Journal “Caucasology” is included in the List for the following scientific specialties for the validity period of the Nomenclature of scientific specialties (approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated February 24, 2021 No. 118 with amendments made by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated September 27, 2021 No. 886):

–  5.6.1. Domestic history (historical sciences),

– 5.6.4. Ethnology, anthropology and ethnography (historical sciences).

Based on the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated February 1, 2022 No. 33-r, the Electronic Journal “Caucasology” is included in the List of scientific specialties 10.01.02 – Literature of the Peoples of the Russian Federation until October 16, 2022.

Based on the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated February 21, 2023, the Journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of candidate of sciences, for the degree of doctor of sciences (as of 21.02.2023) in the scientific specialty should be published:
